Okay, so this is old news, and maybe just about everyone else on the Interweb has read this dozens of times over. Maybe it’s like the email the Nigerian oil minister sends out every now and then that still fools my mom. (Not really. But the one about Bill Gates giving giving everyone who reads his email a million dollars gets her.)
But I heard it for the first time this morning on Beat the Press or Fuck the Nation or whatever, and it blew me away. It blew me away that some political nobody, at the time an Illinois State Senator, would be this ballsy. It blew me away that a statement like this from someone like him wouldn’t completely discredit him and kill his influence in his own party. It blew me away just how right on he was.
What the hell am I talking about?

Maybe Barak Obama, and you have to work with me here for a minute, is the Anti-Christ. Maybe he will sweep into victory in his bid for the Whitehouse, end the war, bring peace to the Middle East, and bring about the End of Days.
It could happen.
But he’s got my vote, even so. I think it’s going to come down to Barak Obama or Hillary Clinton with the Democratic nomination, and if the California primaries mean anything, which they never have because they are too late in the season, he will have my vote.
And in November of ’08, my vote will go to either one of them.
But this guy. This guy has balls.

Unfortunately that’s what the man is good at, speaches. We all know we can’t pull out of the middle east, it could be done better, but it can’t be undone. Please tell me your vote isn’t hinged on who can talk the best game?
My vote is not based on who talks the best game. My vote is based on who shows the most promise and provides the most hope for the future of this country.
