::Mekka-lekka hi, mekka hiney ho!

So, I’m gonna take a break from the usual politically tinged angst bullshit that usually fills this blog to let you all know something very important that I just learned myself this morning:

Pee-wee is back.

Cartoon Network is running Pee-Wee’s Playhouse as part of Adult Swim.

This makes me happy.

::first veto

21 07 2006

“…Congress has also passed a second bill that attempts to overturn the balanced policy I set. This bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others. It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect, so I vetoed it. “

George W. Bush

July 19th, 2006

So, the President has done his first veto since taking office. He must be proud of himself, saving the dignity of human life the way he has. After all, the embryos that would be used for stem cell research aren’t spare parts, as the President wisely points out. These zygotes in waiting are people–people who were created by hopeful parents who went through fertilization treatments and were successful in bringing babies to term. These embryos have big brothers and sisters, and could one day themselves be implanted in a hopeful woman waiting to be a parent.

These embryos could one day be President themselves.

Hence, the sanctity the President sought to protect.

Or, the parents of these little munchkins could decide they don’t want anymore kids, and that they don’t want them to be available for other prospective parents.

At which point, the embryos would be thrown into the garbage can.

Hence, the sanctity the President sought to protect.

or something.
